Joel engages his learners in meaningful interactions by promoting critical and analytical thinking skills through the usage of strategies that are appropriate to the level of maturity and sophistication of his learners. He recently received the United Federation of Filipino-American Educators (UNIFFIED) 2021 Most Influential Teacher award. This award honors educators who promoted excellence and demonstrated a significant impact on others. They served as role models in many aspects inside and outside the classroom.
He graduated from Philippine Normal University in 2003 with a degree of Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education, majoring in Biology. He was a recipient of the Commission on Higher Education – Curriculum Initiative for Teacher Education (CHED-CITE) Scholarship that granted him a double degree course. He is currently pursuing a post-baccalaureate education in the same university to earn a degree of Master of Arts in Education, Major in Biology.
