Reframing “Think Global, Act Local” in an age of lockdowns & online learning.

The COVID situation has been a tough one for all school communities and potentially more so for those hoping to engage students in hands-on, authentic learning experiences. How, in an online-learning world, do we engage students in meaningful, collaborative, authentic learning that supports the development of a sustainability mindset and a global citizen skillset? How do we continue to aspire to the mission statements emblazoned on our schools’ walls while unable to meet face-to-face?

In this session, we’ll take a look at how schools have been affected by the sudden re-shuffling of learning to better leverage technology to support meaningful experiences related to sustainability, global citizenship and/or service-learning.
