In order for students to engage in three-dimensional phenomena-based lessons, we need a fourth dimension: a strong class ethos. Most of the time our ethos is known but not spoken. In this session we will explore and activities that will allow you to co-create a class ethos with your students that position all learners as valuable members of the class, to feel a sense of belonging and become active participants in their own learning. Together we will investigate ways to shift student status and create a space where all students are welcomed in the learning process. Participants will leave with strategies they can use in their own classes immediately and an action plan to continue to develop ethos for a more inclusive classroom.
